La Luarquesa is a company that since 1896, and for 4 generations, has been dedicated to the manufacture of bread, cookies and tea cakes, using the recipes and methods bequeathed by our elders, incorporating new formulas and quality and food safety systems such as IFS Food v.7..
Perhaps you are looking at one of the last biscuit manufacturers that only use high-quality natural raw materials, and do not use any food additives at all; being according to independent critics, among the 10 best cookies in the world.
In addition, the company has developed products for the gourmet channel and the horeca channel.
In the year 1885, Adolfo García Fernández left Otur, together with his wife Eduviges López, with the intention of working in Luarca and looking for a way of life that was not working in the fields.
Shortly after settling in Luarca, he had to found a company dedicated to the groceries trade and very shortly after, intensely in some of his wife's recipes, a bakery that he combined with his business. They were difficult years, because the Civil War and the continuous requisition of raw materials and manufactured products by the fighting troops made it difficult for Adolfo to feed his numerous offspring.
It is said that after difficult times come good times and this founder began to prosper and the businesses gave enough to be able to pay off previously contracted loans and provide some well-being for his family.
Adolfo was succeeded by his sons Manuel and Marino who shared with their father the work and fatigue typical of that time. These two sons were succeeded by their grandsons Marino and José Manuel who still treasured the formulas and advice received during all this time.
At present, with the expanded and modernized business, transferred to its new facilities in the Industrial Park, his great-grandsons Marino and José Manuel appear, who inject youth and desire into the company, and incorporate new technologies according to the times, echoing current production techniques and innovating in new products.
Since the foundation by Adolfo García Fernández with the General Industry Registry number 0/00199, until today 4 generations have passed, and from each and every one of them the illusions, hopes, efforts are fused in the new facilities. and desires typical of the work of 125 years.
